After creating their first major art trail in Burton Upon Trent, the team behind Burton Swans knew it couldn’t be their last. In one of the toughest years any of us have experienced—amid an international pandemic—Burton Swans became a shining light for thousands, bringing joy, creativity, and connection to the community. The project demonstrated just how powerful public art can be in transforming spaces and bringing people together.

Since then, Making Trails has grown into a company dedicated to designing, manufacturing, and installing bespoke and hireable trails across the UK. We collaborate with councils, BIDs, charities, and organizations to create engaging public art experiences that leave a lasting impact. Based in the Midlands, we operate from two sites where our team brings these unique creations to life.
